Colombia exported 4.92 million tonnes of coal in March 2024, down 7.53% from 5.32 million tonnes in the month before, which marked the lowest since November 2023, according to the National Administrative Department of Statistics.
The figure was also 2.12% lower than 5.03 million tonnes in the same month last year, data showed.
In March, Colombia's coal exports amounted to $517 million, down 46.07% year on year and 18.28% on the month.
The average coal export price was calculated at $105.08/t, indicating a decline of 44.9% on the year and an 11.63% drop from the previous month.
Total coal exports over January-March stood at 15.17 million tonnes, up 7.49% from 14.11 million tonnes a year earlier. The export value reached $1.81 billion, 36.55% lower than the preceding year, data showed.
